Rams host cross-country invitational in Jefferson

The Greene County Rams hosted a cross-country invitational meet Sept. 13 at the Jefferson Municipal Golf Course. The Rams finished third in the boys race, with senior Noah Hinote, sophomore Brady Carstensen and junior Carter Hinote placing in the top 20 to receive medals.

The winning time for the 5K race was 17:06.42 set by senior Jude Benbow of Ogden.

Ram times and places were N. Hinote, 18:27.60, 6th; B. Carstensen, 18:49.86, 11th; C. Hinote, 19:11.26, 14th; Nick Black, 20:13.28, 23rd; Jayden Koller, 21:08.76, 36th; Eli Carstensen, 21:19.34, 39th; Kole Johnson-Peterson, 21:25.29, 42nd; Maddox Carstensen, 23:00.41, 56th; Tucker Ford, 25:03.53, 64th; and Dexter Ritter, 26:54.09, 72nd.

Team scores in the boys race were Ogden 29; Denison-Schleswig 77; Greene County 87; Southeast Valley 110; South Hardin 117; Perry 133; and Panorama 143.

Freshman Rylee Mowrer medaled in the girls race with a time of 23:41.19, good for 9th place. Other Ram times were Evelyn Snyder, 26:29,41, 21st; Ava Jablonski, 28:14.47, 30th; Leah McCormick, 33:24.96, 40th; and Cora Powers, 36:00.99, 46th.

Panorama won with 49 team points. Other points were Denison-Schleswig 54; Perry 71; Ogden 92; Southeast Valley 117, and Greene County 119.
